New Old London - Howling Hops Hackney Wick

Couldn’t have picked more of a contrast between the can design and the beer on this one! That familiar jet black colour from a blend of 6 malts with a skinny off-white head.

The nose is all roasted malts, a hint of smoke and those familiar toasted aromas .

Nothing shouts too loudly in this beer and the balance of a gentle coffee flavour, dried fruits and a lovely smooth hop bitterness is just perfect .

Just goes to show what can be achieved without the use of adjuncts when care and attention is paid to an old school beer style .

All in all very drinkable with a creamy mouthfeel. Would love to try this on cask !
